This past Saturday approximately 200 paddlers took to the water in the Saanich Inlet to let Steelhead LNG know there is strong opposition to their Malahat LNG proposal and that the community wants to keep the inlet LNG Free!
Thank you to all the paddlers that answered our call! It was an amazing afternoon! It is very likely there will be another "Paddle" planned for the near future!
Paddlers had an incredible welcome from W̱SÁNEĆ First Nations leaders and then headed out on the water to build the local community and enjoy the Saanich Inlet.

|
When Steelhead LNG announced their proposal to build a gas liquefaction plant at Bamberton in the Saanich Inlet they projected that they would submit their "Project Description" and trigger an environmental assessment by Spring 2016.
They have not yet applied but at recent public meetings have reiterated that they are committed to moving the project forward. We will continue to keep you informed about the process as best we can, so please stay tuned for more information. The "Project Description" is coming soon! |
