Just say "No" to War every Wednesday at noon with the Wednesday Peace Vigil.  We are opposed to the idea that war solves anything.  We know that war kills kids.  Please come take a stand with us for any part of the hour at the Cenotaph at the Legislature some Wednesday soon (Belleville & Government).  Meeting weekly since October 2001 when Canadian forces joined in support of the "humanitarian bombing" of Afghanistan.   (Note:  We no longer meet at 7:00 pm.)  Jane Brett < This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. First of all  * a web-site*   www.oljtarot.com  Who could have imagined that !?!   It's a way of letting people know dates when I'll be reading in Vancouver and Seattle, in addition to the details of booking, etc.
And for the winter/spring ~ a new "reading room" here in Victoria, and one in Vancouver too.  Great locations in lovely spaces. Thirdly, Gift Certificates for readings, in response to requests ~ how timely in December!

Victoria 9/11 Truth has put together a letter to send to our MPs in the near future. The physical letter is being signed by various 9/11 truthers over the next few weeks. In conjunction with the letter, we have created an online petition so people across the country can add their voice. We will print and add those supporters to the original letters sent to the leaders of all political parties.  If you want to sign the petition, go to:  http://www.petitiononline.com/pi8q759/petition.html

Drop in. No experience necessary. All voices welcome. By donation at the door.
Directions: Take Bus #2 down Oak Bay Avenue to Yale Street, or follow this map:

The community chant circle in Oak Bay is a steadily growing community of people who sing for health and spiritual transformation. We gather weekly for Multifaith Kirtan (devotional singing). Nancy Watters leads world chant in a multitude of styles, and uses toning, drumming and dancing to bring us into harmony.  Come discover the sound of your soul. (Fragrance-free, please)

SPECIAL GUEST:  JEWISH CHANT LEADER--DEC. 14

Approximately once a month, guest chant leaders will be with us, so that we can have an in-depth experience of chanting in a specific tradition. This month, we welcome Lorne Mallin on Dec. 14th for a very special evening of Jewish chant. This will be just after Hanukkah, the Jewish celebration of light, and a week before the winter solstice. It's a perfect time for chants focusing on spiritual light. You don't need to know Hebrew or be Jewish to attend. Lorne has led monthly evenings of Jewish chant http://www.lornemallin.com/ in Vancouver since 2004. He first encountered the joy and power of chant in 1973 in a mystical school called the Arica Institute. Lorne trained for two years with chant master Rabbi Shefa Gold http://www.rabbishefagold.com and has led chanting in Japan, Ukraine, the U.S. and Canada. He was the founder of the Vancouver InterSpiritual Chant Festival http://www.vancouverchants.org/ in 2006.

MULTIFAITH HOLIDAY CELEBRATION--DEC. 21
The winter solstice on Dec. 21st is the perfect time to celebrate the transition to more daylight, and the expansion of spiritual light in the world. Come learn the chant that celebrates Christmas, Kwanza, Solstice, Chanukah, Ramadan, and (not to be excluded) Boxing Day!  Bring a candle in a holder.
