Just say "No" to War every Wednesday at noon with the Wednesday Peace Vigil.  We are opposed to the idea that war solves anything.  We know that war kills kids.  Please come take a stand with us for any part of the hour at the Cenotaph at the Legislature some Wednesday soon (Belleville & Government).  Meeting weekly since October 2001 when Canadian forces joined in support of the "humanitarian bombing" of Afghanistan.   (Note:  We no longer meet at 7:00 pm.)  Jane Brett < This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Support CFUV and the Dept of Psychology at UVic - Take the online research survey at http://web.uvic.ca/psyc/investigation2 and $5 will be donated to CFUV! Those who complete the survey will be eligble in a draw for $100 gift certificate for the UVic Bookstore. The study has been approved by UVic's Human Research Ethics Board. *World AIDS Day   December 1st 2007   Host a dinner and raise money for the Hot Meal Program at AIDS Vancouver Island. Every meal served in AIDS Vancouver Island's Hot Meal Program costs $4.50.Can you help us to fund 1,000 dinners for HIV positive people living in our community? Can you host a meal in your home? We ask you to invite your friends, family and colleagues to your home to enjoy a meal and raise much needed funds for the hot meal program. It doesn't matter if the meal is a pizza or a lobster - bringing your friends together to eat, to talk and to support our work is what it is all about! We know our community cares. We know there is a need for a hot meal program. Help us put the two together. Being a host is really easy, and we will support you all the way. All you have to do is register with us and we will send you a "How To Host" manual. From there it is a few short steps to a great evening with friends and a great day for AVI! Do you know someone else who might be interested in hosting? Let them know about this event and get them on board. The more hosts we have - the longer we can serve meals to HIV positive people in our community! Complete information can be found on the AVI website - www.avi.org -  (250) 384-2366,   ext.110 or emailing This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
