Opponents of Canada’s $15-billion arms deal with Saudi Arabia are taking Ottawa to court in an attempt to block shipments of the combat vehicles, a move that could force the governing Liberals to explain how they justify the sale to a human-rights pariah under weapon-export restrictions.
Daniel Turp, a professor of international and constitutional law at the University of Montreal, is leading the effort, supported by students and a Montreal law firm with a record of class-action work and anti-tobacco litigation.
He will announce the legal challenge on Saturday and intends to file it with the Federal Court within three weeks.

In 2006, Nigel
Wright, with Gerstein, was on the board of the
Conservative fund; in the 2006 election Wright and other members of
PMO were complicit in the fraudulent in-and-out
scheme. Given that since they have all been complicit- either in
commission or omission, there is a code of silence. Even Duffy as a
long time insider might not be willing to
incriminate himself by revealing a sequence of nefarious acts since 2006.

Are The RCMP at it Again PEJ News - Inspector Tim Shields of the RCMP says that they arrested Wiebo Ludwig in the interest of public safety, especially in the Dawson Creek area, where the bombings took place. So maybe I am stupid, but what was the charge. He wasn't just held for questioning. He was arrested. So what was the charge? If he was indeed a threat to public safety then, how is he a threat? Where is the proof of threat, or is this all just wishfull thinking on the part of the RCMP.

Hypothetical 2009 Public Trust Green Canadian Budget
PEJ News - Joan Russow - Global Compliance Research Project - REDIRECTION, RELOCATION AND REASSIGNMENT OF GOVERNMENT FUNDS. MOVING FROM SUBSIDIZING THE MILITARY, INDUSTRIAL, FINANCIAL WANTS TO FULFILLING HUMAN RIGHTS AND NEEDS WITHIN A SOCIALLY EQUITABLE AND ENVIRONMENTALLY SOUND ECONOMY.
Given that the Canadian Conservative Government has refused to reveal the exact financial figures in 2009, given that the Conservative government has provided substantial tax cuts for corporations, and given that there is the economic crisis and as a result the 2009 revenue will be considerably lower than anticipated, a budget, with the 2000 revenue of 170 billion, might be applicable.

Stephen Harper's Potential New Year's Resolution: Mea CulpaPEJ News - Joan Russow, Ph.D. - Global Compliance Research Project - Since I [Stephen Harper] pressured the Governor General to (i) dissolve Parliament in order for me to avoid the investigation, by the Parliament Ethics Committee, into "my creative funding in-and-out financial scheme" in the 2006 election, and (ii) prorogue Parliament to evade a non-confidence vote.
