Victoria – Steel-toed boots, nail polish, "Eclipse" on DVD and thermal underwear - this is a small cross-section of the past wish lists of Victoria's shelter residents. When asked, "What would you like for Christmas?", most homeless are simply overwhelmed that someone cares enough to even pose the question. Yet this season, volunteers are doing just that, and posting the results at www.homelesspartners.com.

Friday: Epic court case concludes, Bear Mtn in bankruptcy protection
-Zoe Blunt

Skirt Mountain developers. - the developers  discovered Thursday that their partners in the interchange, Len Barrie and Bear Mountain Master Partnership, have gone into court-ordered creditor protection. Worse, they had to hear it from me, because I got the call just as we all left the courtroom, and I immediately announced the news to everyone.  We note it's exactly two years since we launched the Boycott Bare Mountain campaign, and one year since the creation of the WTF Langford? blog. Did we predict this, or what?

Court update: VIC FAN vs. Langford continues Thurs-Friday

Now the lawyers for the city of Langford and the developers are having their turn, and our lawyers will respond again on Friday. We watched the videos of the two public hearings in court, and it seems like Madam Justice Fenlon has a good sense of the players, their tactics, and what is at stake.

Rest in Peace. A recent photo of Freya Milne.
From the very beginning, her life began with great joy and spiritual reverence, born of a loving mother and father. She was a precocious child full of life and curiosity, and later grew to become an intelligent and wise young woman. We will miss you forever, Freya. Rest in peace. All my love to the family and friends. Condolences may be sent to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . - Al Rycroft

Justicia Para Migrantes BC

PEJ News -
JossJosephMageau - An organization that is almost totally unknown due to a lack of mainstream and quite possibly left wing media coverage is active here in BC working as advocates for migrant workers brought here through the Agricultural Worker Program. In fact, their scope is Canada wide, and with the aid of one particular union ,the UFCWA , they have organized workers in London, Ontario into a viable bargaining unit. Little of this news has made the mainstream, as we here in Canada, as opposed to our hostile neighbours, the Yanks, would never mistreat other human beings. Pigs also are known to not only fly but crow at every bit of light that falls upon them while whistling o Canada much to the amazement of campesinos reaching for their tortillas.
