Just say "No" to War every Wednesday at noon with the Wednesday Peace Vigil.  We are opposed to the idea that war solves anything.  We know that war kills kids.  Please come take a stand with us for any part of the hour at the Cenotaph at the Legislature some Wednesday soon (Belleville & Government).  Meeting weekly since October 2001 when Canadian forces joined in support of the "humanitarian bombing" of Afghanistan.   (Note:  We no longer meet at 7:00 pm.)  Jane Brett < This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. a group of progressive Langford residents and supporters are launching a door-to-door canvass against the Bear Mountain Interchange loan bylaw. They are aiming for 2000 signatures on a petition demanding a referendum on borrowing $25-million for the project. I urge you to come out and spend an hour or two on the doorstep helping build the progressive municipal movement in our region. With the November 2008 elections only 10 months away, it is inspiring to see Langford residents leading the campaign against urban sprawl!  Residents will be going door-to-door for the next 30 days. Call Steven Hurdle at 885-0717 for info.

Urgent! Canadian Action Party has had a Petition posted on its website demanding a Referendum on the SPP since beginning November. To date they have just over 5,400 signatures. They need to get to 10,000 by February 16.   If you haven't signed, please add your voice to those Canadians who have already said NO - the demise of Canada is not negotiable. It is not necessary that you be a member of Canadian Action Party, or even support it to sign.

Siberian tigers are classified as endangered. Tatiana was shipped to San Francisco from the Denver Zoo a few years ago, with zoo officials planning to get Tatiana to mate. A year ago Tatiana had seized and bitten the arm of a keeper. Clearly, Tatiana's own plans differed from those who claimed power over this individual.  This was one of the world's free souls. For that, they killed her.
