Here's American citizen, Scott Ritter,a former U.N. Weapons Inspector in Iraq for seven years:

"Bush as Hitler? you're damn right. For Americans, Bush is worse than Hitler. Hitler never came close to destroying the American way of life; Bush is accomplishing that objective in spades. Hitler dreamed of global conquest; Bush is doing his utmost to achieve it....

....Bush and his PNAC posse pose the greatest threat to the security of the United States, and international peace and security for that matter, than the world has known for sometime. In typical Orwellian doublespeak, Bush and his posse posture in defense against tyranny, while perpetrating tyranny themselves. They are masters of the Big Lie: America is threatened from dangers that lie abroad. America is threatened, but the danger comes from within, from the very ranks of those whom we elected to protect us."

Coop Radio- Leuren Moret: "DU & the U.S. 2004 Election/DU & Your City Council" Labour Day, Monday September 6, 2004 - Noon-1 PM PT COOP RADIO - CFRO - 102.7 FM Vancouver, B.C. LISTEN onLINE TO COOP RADIO: http://www.coopradio.org/

She is an independent scientist and international expert on radiation and public health issues. She is on the organizing committee of the World Committee on Radiation Risk, an organization of independent radiation specialists, including members of the Radiation Committee in the EU parliament, the European Committee on Radiation Risk. She is an environmental commissioner for the City of Berkeley. Ms. Moret earned her BS in geology at U.C. Davis in 1968 and her MA in Near Eastern studies from U.C. Berkeley in 1978. She has completed all but her dissertation for a PhD in the geosciences at U.C. Davis. She has traveled and conducted scientific research in 42 countries. She wrote a scientific report on depleted uranium for the United Nations sub commission investigating the illegality of depleted uranium munitions. Marian Falk, a former Manhattan Project scientist and retired insider at the Livermore Lab, who is an expert on radioactive fallout and rainout, has trained her on radiation issues.

HOST: Alfred Webre, JD, MEd

The 10 big stories the national news media ignore.

4. High uranium levels found in troops and civilians
Last year Project Censored included the United States' and Great Britain's continued use of depleted-uranium weapons - despite ample evidence of their acute health effects - among its top 10 underreported stories. Almost 10,000 U.S. troops died within 10 years of serving in the first Gulf War, researchers had found. And more than a third of those still alive had filed Gulf War Syndrome-related claims.

In study after study, research pointed to the use of depleted uranium in U.S. and British weaponry as the culprit. But authorities concentrated their efforts into obfuscating the problem - downplaying its reach, discrediting scientists and ailing military personnel, and erecting a smoke screen around the root causes of the "syndrome."

More recently, the Uranium Medical Research Center, an independent group of U.S. and Canadian scientists that has conducted studies of Afghan civilians, found overwhelming evidence that the United States is also using nondepleted uranium in its weapons, which is far more radioactive than depleted uranium. "If the use of NDU indicates experimental application of new nuclear weapons, as the UMRC suggests, then it should alert the public that proliferation of small nuclear weaponry, proposed for some future use, has in fact already begun," Stephanie Hiller wrote in Awakened Woman.

At the International Criminal Tribunal for Afghanistan in Tokyo in December, a team of attorneys from Japan, the United States, and Germany indicted Bush on a number of war crimes charges - among them the use of depleted-uranium weapons. Leuren Moret, president of Scientists for Indigenous People, testified at the trial and later reported that a U.S. government study conducted on the babies of Gulf War veterans conceived after the soldiers returned home found that a full two-thirds suffered from serious birth defects or illnesses, including being born without eyes or ears, or with missing or malformed organs or limbs. In Iraq, Moret said, the defects are even worse. But those are just some of the images of war we never see on the evening news.

FOCCED: US Foreign Policy In The Middle East
documentary dvd release party & website launch

Event: DVD Release of FOCCED: US Foreign Policy In The Middle East

Saturday, September 11, 2004
8 pm
Dadabase / 183 East Broadway

Admission: Free

The Vancouver-based producers of a provocative, pull-no-punches documentary DVD will unveil their free-to-download work online (www.focced.com) and at a special launch party at 8 pm Saturday, September 11, 2004 at Dadabase, 183 East Broadway.

FOCCED: US Foreign Policy in the Middle East, the first in a series of documentaries, explores the relationship between US Foreign Policy, US domestic budget cuts from the poor and underprivileged, lobbyists in Washington DC, and the electoral process in the United States of America.

"Fellow Americans... we've been FOCCED", says narrator Stan Goff, a 22 year veteran of US Special Forces, former Green Beret, Ranger and member of Delta Force. "The Finance, Oil, Chemical, Credit, Energy and Defense industries on Wall Street have hijacked the electoral process and turned the federal government into a slot machine designed to do nothing but pay out jackpots." Step by step, Mr. Goff and his guests explain the HOW and WHY of 9/11, the War in Afghanistan, the War in Iraq, and the so-called War on Terror.

Featuring the voices of more than a dozen prominent social activists, American politicians and diplomats, the art of legendary political satirists Mahmoud Kahil and Jim Kirwan and the hip-hop sounds of Arab Canadian rappers Euphrates, FOCCED takes us through the underbelly of the Beltway -- war for profit, special interests, and the neo-conservative agenda being fosterd by both the Democratic and Republican parties at the expense of the American taxpayer.

Heard from through speech excerpts and interviews are Archbishop Desmond Tutu, USMC Major Scott Ritter (Ret), US Attorney General Ramsey Clark, UN Assistant Secretary General Denis Halliday, UN Assistant Secretary General Hans Von Sponeck, US Ambassador Andrew Kilgore, Dr. Manning Marable, Rabbi Jeremy Milgrom of Rabbis for Human Rights, Ora Wise of Jews Against the Occupation, Steven Feuerstein of Not In My Name, and Kelly Campbell of Peaceful Tomorrows.

Three years in the making and running two hours and 27 minutes, FOCCED: US Foreign Policy in the Middle East is unlike any other documentary to date. Produced and distributed by Thousand Miles Productions, a BC registered not-for-profit educational society, it will be available for free download through internet file sharing services such as Kazaa, Limewire, and Bit Torrent, with the goal of getting people in democracies the world over to take an active hand in the political process.

The September 11 premier will feature online access to the new website and screening of clips from the documentary. The full documentary will also be available for purchase on DVD.

Come join us at the premier of FOCCED at Dadabase, 183 East Broadway at 8pm on Saturday, September 11, 2004.

Black Cat Productions Presents:

9-11 EMERGENCY Film Festival Conspiracy Theories or Conspiracy in Practice?

An evening of thought provoking films designed to challenge your perceptions
about the events of Sept. 11, 2001.

A week-long multi-city road show bringing to your community the issues and
the questions that Michael Moore fails to address. The 911 EMERGENCY Film
Festival will be stopping in five cities between Sept. 13 through Sept.
21, beginning in Cumberland, travelling through Nanaimo and Victoria, across
the Straight to Vancouver and up to Gibsons on the Sunshine Coast.

What really happened on Sept. 11, 2001? Did Flight 77 really crash into the
pentagon? Did the World Trade Center buildings really fall down as a result
of the plane crashes? Were these events really caused by Islamic
fundamentalist terrorists?

After watching these films, your own answers to these questions may very
well be: "no, no, and no!" This film festival will turn preconceived
media-nurtured notions on their heads. By examining these questions in the
greatest of detail, the viewer is invited to take a deeper look at the
so-called facts.

Using publicly available footage and documents, Black Cat will take the
audience on an odyssey of video exploration with detailed examination of the
events of 9-11. Evidence and analysis from several recent documentaries will
be presented and juxtaposed to give as much information as possible, with
the intent of enabling the viewer to consider all the available
documentation and arrive at one's own opinions and conclusions.

This evening will last between four and five hours, plus time for
discussion. The images and events of Sept. 11 are devastating and horrific.
This program in its entirety may very well be too overwhelming for some.

Segments of the following films will be presented:

The Great Deception - The War on Terrorism, An Alternate View (2002) Media
critic Barrie Zwicker offers provocative commentaries that challenge the
official explanation for the Sept. 11 attacks and considers the troubling
implications of America's new war.

911, The Road To Tyranny (2002) This film by Alex Jones documents the
ruthless history of governments orchestrating terrorist attacks against
their own people to scare them into submission.

Painful Deceptions (2003) A video supplement to Eric Hufschmid's book,
"Painful Questions: An Analysis of the September 11th Attack." The U.S.
government's assertion that 19 Arabs conspired to attack the USA on Sept. 11
is a conspiracy theory with almost no supporting evidence.

911 In Plane Site (2004) Hosted by Dave vonKleist of The Power Hour radio
show, this astonishing film asks dozens of questions and presents video and
photographic evidence, eye witness accounts and first-hand testimony
revealing the largest cover-up in modern day history.

Aftermath: Unanswered Questions From 9/11 (2003) Presented in the Guerrilla
News Network's trademark beat-diven style, this film features the most
pressing questions surrounding 9-11 that continue to overshadow and
critically challenge the government's official story.

Conspiracy Theories? (2003) CBC-TV's Fifth Estate program has
repeat-broadcast this episode numerous times due to popular demand. This
documentary examines in detail the extensive relationship between the Bush,
Bin Laden, and Saudi royal families.

Mohamed Atta and the Venice Flying Circus (2002) Investigative journalist
Daniel Hopsicker probes the conspiracy in Florida, revealing the astonishing
connections between the hijackers, the Venice flight schools, the Saudis,
the CIA, and organized crime.

Guerrilla News Network shorts (shown in their entirety):

S-11 Redux: (Channel) surfing the apocalypse (11 minutes) A sound-bit
blitzkrieg challenging the messages we have been fed from our mainstream
media and the government it serves.

The War Conspiracy (4.5 minutes) The CIA suppression of Peter Dale Scott,
whose book of the same name, points to sustained patterns of collusion and
deceit involving diverse powerful players and hidden powerful forces within
the U.S. government.

Profile: Robert Sterling (4 minutes) Guerrilla warfare in the information
age. The web's pre-eminent conspiracist Robert Sterling breaks down the
nature of info-war.

In mid July, a Belgian cabinet minister quoted my
report "Hidden from History: The Canadian Holocaust"
to his country's media to point out that not only
Belgium inflicted Genocide on indigenous people.

Since April, indigenous Mayan organizations in
Guatemala have been pounding on the door of the
Canadian embassy with a "denuncia", or formal protest,
against the murder and Genocide of Canadian aboriginal
people in residential schools.

In "British Columbia", the Haida people have begun to
repatriate the physical remains of their ancestors,
who were stolen and imprisoned in American and
European museums. The Haida are considering extending
this repatriation campaign to include retrieving the
remains of all of their children who died in
church-run residential schools and hospitals, and
whose bodies still lie concealed in secret graves
across Canada.

And thus is the tide turning in our years-long
struggle to expose the legal mass murder of indigenous
people in Canada. It is time that once again we
gathered our forces, update and educate ourselves, and
plan our actions for the coming year.

So, on Wednesday, September 15, at 7 pm, our Truth
Commission will be holding its first general meeting
for the coming year, in the main floor board room at
the Canadian Autoworkers Hall at 326-12th street in
New Westminster, BC. (See more instructions below).

I hope that any of you within reach of Vancouver will
attend this gathering, which will be the first of many
public events planned for the fall.

At the meeting, I'll be giving a report about the
native gatherings I have attended across Canada since
the spring, and the international solidarity that is
increasingly being shown for our work. I'll also be
sharing reports from other groups working with us in
Manitoba, ontario and Vancouver Island.

The Haida elder who now co-hosts my radio program with
me, Wilf Price, will also be in attendance to discuss
our forthcoming joint public lecture series entitled
"The Roots and ongoing Reality of Genocide in Canada".

I have also asked a representative of the Guatemalan
Mayan groups which are acting on our behalf to speak
at the meeting, to tell us of the actions being held
by these groups to force an international inquiry into
Genocide in Canada.

We need your renewed presence and participation now,
in order to rebuild our forces and place the issue of
Genocide on the forefront of the political agenda in

I look forward to seeing you on Sept. 15. Please post
this notice throughout your email lists, and mark the
date on your calendar right away.

To get to the meeting:

By car: 326-12th street runs north-south in New

By bus or skytrain: Take the skytrain to the New
Westminster station, then walk west to 12th street and
up the hill on that street. The CAW building will be
on your left as you face uphill.

A final inducement to attend: At the meeting we will
be selling organic Fair Trade coffee from the same
Mayan people who are working with us to bring Canada
and its churches to justice. We hope to extend the
distribution network for this coffee so that the Mayan
cooperatives that produce it can be sustained. Lend
these brave brothers and sisters a hand!

Jobs with Justice and Dignity! * Health for our Communities! * Universal Education!

Affordable Housing for All! * Affordable and Accessible Public Transit for All!

Sunday September 19, 2004
Main Street Skytrain Station * 1:00 p.m.

On Sunday, September 19th the Bus Riders Union presents the Second Annual March for

Economic Human Rights: For our communities? right to jobs, health, education, housing and transit. In preparation for the March, the BRU will also host a community Forum on Economic

Human Rights on Thursday, September 16, at 7 PM at the Vancouver Public Library.

The call for economic human rights echoes the last campaign conceived and led by the great civil rights leader Martin Luther King before his assassination by the U.S. state. The Poor People?s March for Economic Human Rights directly challenged the U.S. Establishment to end its attack on Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia and make the needs of poor people, who were mostly Black, Mexican-American, Puerto Rican and Native American, and majority women, the top economic and political priority of the nation. The march aimed to bring an "army of the poor" into the heart of Washington, D.C. to demand that congress enact an Economic Bill of Rights.

Today the call for economic human rights is as necessary as ever as billions of people internationally are denied our basic human needs due to war, the ongoing plunder of the Third World, forced migration, the continued theft of Indigenous land, and the imposition of neoliberal privatization, deregulation and liberalization.

In India, Mexico, the Philippines, South Africa, Iraq and throughout the Third World, the right to adequate housing, meaningful work with justice and dignity, healthcare and healthy communities, meaningful education, and unhindered mobility are violated daily. Workers of the Third World create the majority of the world?s wealth but are denied both economic and political rights as the wealth and resources flow out of Third World nations and into the pockets of Canadian, European and U.S. based corporations. A small elite in the Third World benefits from a partnership with multinational capital, imperialist governments, and financial institutions like the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank.

In the countries of the imperialist centre, the attack on the basic economic human rights of working class communities is also intensifying. As wealth is accumulated from the ongoing theft and plunder of Indigenous resources and the intensification of profit-motivated ?development?, more and more workers are forced into low-wage, part-time, ?flexible? and insecure jobs. The BC Liberals have gutted the labour code, torn up contracts, and implemented the $6/hour training wage. The health of our communities suffer as public services and basic rights such as affordable housing, health care, childcare, women?s centres, welfare, transit and other vital necessities become more inaccessible due to program cuts and established patterns of privatization.

The Bus Riders Union campaign to Stop the Fare Increase is an attempt to organize communities that are most impacted to fight for our economic human rights. The fare increase is a clear and obvious strategy to take money directly out of the pockets of low-income transit-dependent people, who are majority women and disproportionately people of colour, to pay for privatization schemes like the Richmond-Airport-Vancouver line. When we stand against the fare increase, we join with militant women who lead struggles across the globe. As we struggle against the fare increase, we demand that the needs of the majority become the top economic and political priority in our region, in our country and in our world.

We call on all those who share a vision of economic justice and the redistribution of wealth ? regionally, nationally and internationally ? to join us and take to the streets, as we demand Economic Human Rights for All!

We are extremely happy to have Linda Perry facilitate this workshop for us and provide as many families as possible with the information they need to be successful in this area. We may have funding available to provide some transportation, so please call to enquire about whether or not you would qualify.

Contractor or Employee?

What everyone in receipt of I.F. needs to know.

This workshop will provide an overview of the laws, and regulations that may impact your role as the individual paying for contracted services and/or as the employer of record.

There is a legal distinction between being a contractor and an employee. There are three government branches that have this distinction defined. Provincially there is the Employment Standards Act, and Workers? Compensation Act. Federally the definitions are determined through the Canada Customs and Review Agency. And the definitions within each government agency are not the same.

This workshop will provide a summary of each agencies definitions, how to determine if the people paid to assist you are contractors or employers; and, how to comply with each government agency?s expectations.

Presenter: Linda Perry, Executive Director, Vela Microboard Association of B.C.

Linda Perry is mother and grandmother to two gals with special needs. She has worked for and with people with physical and developmental challenges for over twenty-five years. For the last fifteen years, she has focused on community development, inclusion for all, and individualized funding.

Linda is currently the Executive Director of Vela Microboard Association and has assisted with the development of over 250 Microboards through out British Columbia. In her capacity with Vela Microboard Association Linda has provided extensive information, advice and support to individuals wishing to learn more about the roles and responsibilities related to contracting and becoming the employer of record.

If you would like to attend the workshop, please contact Angela Clancy, Executive Director with the Family Support Institute at 604-875-1119 to book your space.

You may already have heard about the Northwest Social Forum (www.nwsocialforum.org) taking place in Seattle this Oct. 14-17. Reclaim the Media (www.reclaimthemedia.org) is coordinating events to form a Media Democracy summit/programming track for the event; numerous media activist groups, media watchdogs and microbroadcasters from the region have already stepped forward with ideas for workshops and other events.

We're particularly enthusiastic about using the NWSF as a reason to build solidarity between Washington and BC-based groups working on media issues, as well as media literacy educators and independent media makers.

The following letter meant for radical labour activists and those who agree
with the purpose of the Province-Wide Fightback Conference.

The idea is for folks to bring this letter to their local(s) and/or local
labour council. I thought it would be appropriate to send it out to this
caucus as many of the desires are the same and these concepts go hand in
hand. We have also sent a letter out to grassroots community groups in hopes
to reach as many grassroots activists and radical labour activists as
possible. You can see our "Conference Proposal" on our website at
