Working TV: The Shaw TV police are at again.  This week's program  - set to air today -  apparently is just not suitable for public broadcast ( here in the lower mainland ).  In  its place Shaw will repeat one of the working TV Prison Justice  programs which aired last month.

Subject: NO NEW working TV broadcast today -  censored again by Shaw TV police
Date: Sat, 4 Sep 2004 13:24:41 -0700

Friends of community television,
working TV found out about this late yesterday,  and  we won't get a reason for this action until at least Tuesday  after the long weekend..  In the  past Shaw has simply refused to give a reason for censoring programs in spite of our repeated requests for this information.  We hope this will not be the case this time.
In the meantime we've posted the today's complete working TV program online ( including
broadband version ) at http://www.workingtv.com/censoredbyshaw.html
It is in segments,  more suitable for webcast, but the entire program is posted exactly as presented to Shaw.
working TV is offering a special prize for any viewer who can guess why Shaw found this program unacceptable.

Could it be the short soundbyte from NDP leader Jack Layton? ( the only common element this program has with the last one they refused to air in fall 2003 ).  Or could it be the 3 seconds of bare breasted women in the 2004  Pride Parade segment?   We have no idea.  We look forward to hearing what you think .  .  .
We'll keep you posted.
