Cdn Peace Alliance: March 20, 2004 marks one full year since the start of the war on Iraq. Since then, thousands of innocent Iraqis have been killed, no weapons of mass destruction have been found, and democracy is nowhere in sight in "liberated" Iraq. Everything the anti-war movement said last year has been proven correct. Now, one year later, the anti-war movement is back to say "The World STILL Says No to War"!

In Canada there is increasing concern that Paul Martin's Government is supporting many of the aggressive plans of the Bush Republicans. He is a pushing for Canadian corporations to be given access to lucrative Iraqi reconstruction contracts, all of which are not available to Iraqis themselves. He is also planning to sign on to the ridiculous and dangerous US Missile Defence plan which will lead to a new arms race and a much less secure world. We need to get back on the streets and tell the Liberals "Don't sign on to US aggression!" March 20 has been endorsed in countries all over the world as the next global day of protest to mark the one-year anniversary of the Iraq War. Thousands of anti-war campaigners at the European Social Forum and the 2nd International Cairo Conference have already endorsed March 20 and a special global anti-war assembly at the World Social Forum in Mumbai, India will discuss March 20 too. Already there are demonstrations planned in many cities in Canada and The Canadian Peace Alliance will continue to help facilitate these actions.
