Where Does Your Candidate Stand on Community Forestry?

April 19, 2005     Press release - BC Community Forestry Association

“Provincial candidates must prioritize local forests, local people, & local decisions,” say BC communities.

The BC Community Forest Association (BCCFA) is asking provincial candidates to support community forestry. The BCCFA is calling upon the next provincial government to advance the interests of rural BC. “If our government is committed to supporting BC communities, we need true local control and support for sustainable, community-based forest management,” says Noba Anderson, BCCFA board member and Executive Director of the Cortes Ecoforestry Society.
